Wiitala, Ohio State upset No. 4 Boston College

ESTERO, Fla. — John Wiitala’s third-period goal helped Ohio State complete a rally from a two-goal deficit for a 3-2 victory over No. 4 Boston College in the semifinals of the Florida College Hockey Classic on Monday.

Anthony Greco and Tyler Lundey scored in the second period as the Buckeyes (4-11) erased Boston College’s 2-0 lead.

Adam Gilmour scored from the corner 1:22 into the game for the Eagles (13-3-1), and Zach Sanford finished off a two-on-one rush with Austin Cangelosi 1:07 later.

Christian Frey stopped 30 shots for the Buckeyes. Thatcher Demko made 16 saves for Boston College.

The Eagles’ Miles Wood was given a game disqualification for checking from behind in the game’s final seconds, meaning he’s suspended for Tuesday’s consolation game against No. 1 Providence.

Ohio State will play No. 9 Cornell for the tournament championship.
