This is the ninth time the championship game has gone to overtime and the third time that it has been BC and BU playing. BC has won the previous two overtime contests in the title game against the Terriers.

A bad-angle shot by Brian Boyle nearly ended up the game winner as Curry dropped the puck right onto the goal line before covering up. Referee Benedetto is actually going to review this one but will see that the puck never crossed the line.

A BU scrum in front that resulted in the red light going on while referee Benedetto waved no goal resulted in the first instant replay sitution of the tournament. Upon further review, the puck never crossed the line, instead hit the post and then landed under Schneider. Regardless, BU is finally getting chances.
