Joe Rooney had the game-winner on his stick but tried to pick a corner on Curry, missing the net high. 1:55 played thus far in overtime.

Just 44 second into overtime, Boyle got off a hard wrist shot from the slot on a rush that required a nice pad save from Curry.

BC had 29 attempts on goal during the third period, 13 of them on target, seven blocked by the defense and nine missing the net. This is the ninth time the championship game has gone to overtime and the third time that it has been BC and BU playing. BC has won the previous two overtime contests in the title game against the Terriers.

A bad-angle shot by Brian Boyle nearly ended up the game winner as Curry dropped the puck right onto the goal line before covering up. Referee Benedetto is actually going to review this one but will see that the puck never crossed the line.
