Wisconsin has hired Gary Shuchuk and Bill Butters as assistant coaches.
The Badgers had to fill both full-time assistant positions this offseason after Kevin Patrick left to lead the new Muskegon team in the USHL and Mark Osiecki took over at Ohio State.
Shuchuk, the 1990 WCHA player of the year, helped the Badgers to the national title that season. He has coached at youth levels in Wisconsin.
Butters was an assistant coach and recruiting coordinator at Minnesota — his alma mater — from 1985 to 1995. He since coached at Bethel and White Bear Like High School.
