Scott McDonald has stepped down as RIT women’s hockey coach, the school announced.

McDonald had a 205-154-29 record in 12 seasons as head coach of the Tigers. He also was an assistant coach for the men’s hockey team for three years before moving to the women’s team.

He led the Tigers to the NCAA Division III women’s championship in 2012 before the team moved to Division I play the following season.

RIT won the CHA championship in 2014 and 2015.

The school plans a national search for a replacement.
