The two finalists in the 2012 CHA title game finished 1-2 in the annual preseason coaches’ poll, but the runner-up (Mercyhurst) was named the the top team and the league champion from last spring (Robert Morris) came in second.
The 2012-13 ECAC preseason all-league team was announced Monday and is made up of three seniors and three juniors who all ranked near the top of every statistical category last season in league play. As voted on by the league’s 12 head coaches, players come from four different teams – Clarkson, Cornell, Harvard and Quinnipiac.

Rochester Institute of Technology will hold a groundbreaking ceremony for the Gene Polisseni Center, a 4,000 seat multipurpose arena that will serve as the new home for RIT men’s and women’s hockey, on Oct. 19 from 4-5 p.m.
