HANOVER, N.H. — Ryan Lough’s power-play goal midway through the third period helped St. Lawrence stave off elimination in the opening round of the ECAC Hockey playoffs with a 4-2 win over Dartmouth Saturday.

Fifth-seeded Dartmouth led 1-0 early on Ryan Blackmeier’s first goal since the opening game of the season, but St. Lawrence tied it on Cade Gleekel’s first collegiate goal at 13:49 in the first period.

Mike Marnell gave the Saints the lead 5:48 into the second, but River Rymsha tied it for the Big Green, setting up Lough’s game winner. Keenan Suthers added an empty-net goal for the twelfth- seeded Saints.

Arthur Brey made 26 saves for St. Lawrence, while Dartmouth’s Devin Buffalo stopped 18 shots.

Game 3 will be Sunday at 5 p.m.
