Paul McAvoy had two goals to help Colgate overcome an early deficit en route to a 5-2 in over RPI Saturday night. The Engineers lead 1-0 on Jacob Hayhurst’s goal less than a minute into the game, but the Raiders scored the next three goals to take the lead for good. Hayhurst’s second of the game pulled RPI to within one late in the third, but that’s as close as the Engineers would get. Colton Point made 34 saves for the win. These teams meet again next weekend in a best-of-three series hosted by the sixth-seeded Raiders.
