Plattsburgh to play for D-III women’s title after beating Norwich

In the first women’s Division III semifinal Friday, defending champion Plattsburgh defeated Norwich 5-2 and will play for the tile Saturday night on home ice.

Kayla Meneghin scored two goals and Alyssa Parke and Bridget Balisy each tallied a goal and an assist for the Cardinals.

Melissa Sheeran added the other goal, while Jordan Lipson and Giovanna Senese each collected two assists for Plattsburgh (25-2-2).

Plattsburgh goaltender Camille Leonard finished with 22 saves.

For the Cadets (22-5-3), Kaycie Anderson scored both goals and Celeste Robert made 11 saves on 15 shots through 27:32 before Laurie King stopped nine the rest of the way.

Plattsburgh plays the Wisconsin-River Falls-Elmira winner for the championship tomorrow evening.
