The Spartans tallied the first three goals of the game as Ferrantino scored the only goal in the first, and Matt DeBlouw and Sorenson scored in the second.
Princeton’s Kyle Rankin and Ryan Siiro netted goals in the third to bring the Tigers within one halfway through the period, but the Spartans held on, and Berry put the game away at 19:58 with an empty-net goal.
Jake Hildebrand made 20 saves in the win for Michigan State. Colton Phinney made 29 saves for Princeton.
