St. Denis’ last-minute goal sends No. 20 Quinnipiac past No. 12 Union

SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Travis St. Denis scored a power-play goal with 51.7 seconds left to break a tie, and No. 20 Quinnipiac beat No. 12 Union 4-3 on Friday.

After going unbeaten in their final 17 games last season en route to the national championship and winning their first five games this season, the Dutchmen have gone 0-5-1.

The Bobcats (6-2-1, 3-0 ECAC Hockey) were 3-for-4 on the power play Friday.

Sam Anas, Landon Smith and Tim Clifton also scored for Quinnipiac, which has won five straight games.

Michael Garteig stopped 28 shots for the Bobcats.

Daniel Ciampini, Jeff Taylor and Max Novak scored for the Dutchmen (5-5-1, 0-4-1), who got 31 saves from Alex Sakellaropoulos.
