Rigsby enters 100-win club as Wisconsin edges Harvard for spot in women’s Frozen Four

MADISON, Wis. — Alex Rigsby had a highlight-reel save among her 23 stops in her 100th collegiate victory, leading Wisconsin back to the women’s Frozen Four with a 2-1 win over Harvard on Saturday.

Blayre Turnbull had a goal and an assist, and Katy Josephs also scored for the Badgers, who earned their seventh Frozen Four trip.

In the third period, Rigsby denied a Harvard shot at an open net by lunging with her stick, which caught the puck in mid air.

Turnbull and Josephs scored late in the first and second periods, respectively, to stake the Badgers (28-7-2) to a 2-0 lead.

Dylanne Crugnale cut Harvard’s deficit to one with 3:23 remaining, but the Crimson (23-7-4) couldn’t get a tying goal.

Emerance Maschmeyer made 42 saves for Harvard.

Wisconsin will play Minnesota in the national semifinals on Friday in Hamden, Conn.
