Boyles stops 34 as Boston College blanks Vermont

BOSTON — Andie Anastos scored a goal and an assist and Corinne Boyles stopped 34 shots for her 11th career shutout as No. 7 Boston College blanked Vermont, 2-0, and swept the weekend series.

Anastos helped the Eagles take a lead at 13:36 of the first period when she passed the puck to Emily Pfalzer, who beat Vermont netminder Roxanne Douville from the right circle. Anastos then scored an insurance goal for BC at 7:32 of the third on a wrap-around that she slipped under Douville’s pads.

Among Boyles’ saves was a third-period stop on a breakaway by Greer Vogl.

Boston College will play New Hampshire in a home-and-home next weekend on Saturday, Jan. 25, and Sunday, Jan. 26. Vermont will host Boston University.
