Boyles stops 30 as Boston College edges Harvard

Trailing 1-0 late in the first period, Boston College scored three goals to upend Harvard and advance to its third consecutive Frozen Four against the winner of Minnesota and North Dakota.

Corinne Boyles stopped 30 shots to improve to 22-4-1, Blake Bolden tallied two assists, and senior Caitlin Walsh netted the game-winning goal in her final game at Kelley Rink.

As in their Beanpot game on Feb. 5, Harvard got the first goal when Mary Parker scored at 16:00 of the first period, but the Crimson couldn’t hold the lead, as Haley Skarupa scored just a minute later to send the teams to the locker room tied after one.

Early in the second, Walsh’s wrist shot beat Emerance Maschmeyer to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead.  Alex Carpenter then redirected Bolden’s shot past Maschmeyer at 15:04 of the second period to give BC a two-goal lead.

Harvard outshot the Eagles, 13-3, in the third, but Boyles stood tall in net to preserve the win.
