Calof strikes late to give Princeton upset win over No. 4 Cornell

Andrew Calof’s second goal of the game, a power-play goal with 2:53 remaining, broke a 3-3 tie and led Princeton to a 5-3 victory over No. 4 Cornell on Friday.

Cornell scored the first three goals of the third period to erase the Tigers’ 2-0 advantage, only to have Princeton respond with three goals of its own.

Rob Kleebaum tied the game with 4:52 left, and Andrew Ammon added an empty-net goal in the final minute on which Calof earned his third point of the night with an assist.

John Esposito, Greg Miller and Armand de Swardt scored for the Big Red (3-1-1, 1-1-1 ECAC Hockey) in the first 10:26 of the third period.

Calof and Michael Zajac scored power-play goals in the first and second periods, respectively, for the Tigers (1-2, 1-0), who were 3-for-5 on the power play.
