Air Force Holds On for 4-2 Win over American International

Air Force controlled the first 54 minutes on Friday — scoring just over a minute into the game — but allowed two American International goals in the last six minutes before holding on for a 4-2 victory.

The Falcons scored three goals in the first period — by Andy Berg, Brian Goenick and Scott Zwiers — and Brian Rodgers made it a 4-0 game in the second.

But a power-play goal by Mike Bujdos and a Trent Ulmer score off a Air Force turnover cut the lead in half late.

“We played well for two-and-a-half periods and we found a way to win,” Air Force coach Frank Serratore said. “We deserved to win the game but we didn’t finish the way we would have liked. When we get teams up to 7,000 feet we should not lose the third period.”
