Another spilt that was unexpected but thrilling to see. The NEWHL is growing, and teams are becoming more even in skill. This spilt should have all the teams in this conference on their toes for every game, as any team can win on any given day.
No. 8 Gustavus Adolphus vs. No.9 Wisconsin-Eau Claire; Tie 2-2
Not an unrealistic outcome for this game. Wis.-Eau Claire had a game the day before this matchup, and Gustavus Adolphus had a fresh roster. When the new rankings come out there should be no surprise if these teams switch spots as this tie only hurts Gustavus Adolphus.
No. 6 Adrian vs. Northland: Adrian 3-0, 1-0
This game reflects Northland’s growth and efforts the past couple years. Northland gave the Bulldogs a hard time last year, and this year is no different. This matchup also shows the NCHA is getting stronger with the new additions they have added over the years. Adrian should stay ranked sixth.
