Wisconsin junior forward Jordy Murray has signed a professional contract with the Rapperswil-Jona Lakers of the Swiss National League A and will not return for his final year of collegiate eligibility with the Badgers.
“My three years here with the team and coach (Mike) Eaves have been great,” said Murray in a press release. “I’ve really developed as a player and a person and it think it made me ready to take this next step in turning pro. I’d like to come back, but it is a great opportunity.”
Murray posted career-highs with 18 goals and 26 points in 40 games last season and his 12 power-play goals tied for second in the nation and first in the WCHA.
For his career, Murray finishes with 38 goals and 60 points in 119 games.
