While nothing official has been announced, a report in the Lowell Sun all but confirms Norm Bazin as Massachusetts-Lowell’s next head coach.
Blaise MacDonald was let go following this past season.
Bazin played for the Riverhawks from 1990-1994 and has previously been an assistant coach at Lowell and Colorado College and most recently, was the head coach at Division III Hamilton College.
According to the Sun, during the interview process, one person familiar with the situation said Bazin “didn’t just hit a home run, he hit a grand slam.”
Along with Bazin, UML also reportedly interviewed U.S. National Team Development Program coach Ron Rolston, Union assistant coach Rick Bennett and Lowell alum Mark Carlson, currently the head coach of the USHL’s Cedar Rapids RoughRiders.
