No. 1 Denver will be without leading scorer and U.S. World Junior star Troy Terry for an indefinite amount of time.

Terry suffered an upper-body injury in the Pioneers’ 3-0 loss to Western Michigan on Friday and his return to the lineup is unknown, according to a Denver statement Saturday morning.

Terry appeared to be favoring his left arm after an open-ice hit by Broncos defenseman Luke Bafia in the third period on Friday.

Terry, a sophomore, shares the Pioneers’ lead with 22 points.

Last week, he scored three times in a shootout with Russia in the semifinals of the World Junior Championship, then another time in the gold-medal victory over Canada.

He returned to Denver’s lineup last Saturday and scored two goals and added three assists.
