The Grand Forks Herald is reporting that North Dakota and Boston College are planning a U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Game at Madison Square Garden.
The game is tentatively scheduled for Dec. 3, 2016.
In the last decade, North Dakota and BC rank 1-2 nationally in both wins (UND 264, Boston College 261) and Frozen Four appearances (UND six, Boston College six) and have played in the NCAA tournament four times in the last 11 years, with three of them coming in the Frozen Four.
Boston University and Cornell played at the home of the NHL’s New York Rangers and NBA’s New York Knicks in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013 – all sellouts.
Further details are being finalized and should be made public in the fall when a formal announcement is made.
