My picks were respectably mediocre over the holiday break. It is always an interesting challenge to try and figure out how teams will hit the ice after a break. Will they be rust?y Or will they be re-focused? You never know.
This week, the ECAC West continues its roll through nonconference games, with most of the games coming against the SUNYAC. Brockport is the wild card, as it plays a pair of games against Neumann sandwiched around a tilt at The Cooler to face Hobart.
Elmira heads to Norwich for the Cadets’ annual tournament. The Soaring Eagles need to rebound from a disappointing end to the first half of the season.

Fitchburg State vs Elmira — Elmira starts the second half of the season at the Norwich Classic tournament. The Soaring Eagles have chewed on a two losses during the holidays, and should be eager to erase those bad memories.
Neumann at Brockport — Neumann is rolling outside the conference.
Curry at Hobart — Hobart also finished 2010 with a pair of losses and needs to get rolling if it wants to play past the regular season.
Cortland at Utica — This game should be a tight affair, but Utica hasn’t lost a home nonconference game in over a year.
Saturday, January 7
Brockport at Hobart — It is fan appreciation weekend at Hobart, with no admission cost. With warm temperatures predicted, The Cooler should be packed.
Cortland at Manhattanville — The Valiants benefit from only playing a single game this weekend, at home, against a Cortland team coming off a tough game at Utica.
Curry at Utica — The Pioneers stay on a roll against Curry.
Tuesday, January 10
Brockport at Neumann — The Knights continue their busy schedule, but get one more day of rest than Brockport does.
Elmira at Fredonia — Elmira can’t afford to lose even a single more nonconference game if they want to stay alive for the Pool C bid.
Wednesday, January 11
Hobart at Geneseo — Hobart beat Geneseo at The Cooler in December, but the Ice Knights look to hold serve at home this time around.
