USA Hockey announced Thursday that Princeton’s women’s coach Jeff Kampersal has been named head coach of the U.S. Women’s National Under-18 Team for the 2013-14 season. Joining him as assistant coaches will be Boston College associate coach Courtney Kennedy and Boston University assistant coach Katie Lachapelle.
St. Cloud State announced Wednesday that the National Hockey and Event Center has been renamed the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. Yale senior forward Alyssa Zupon has been named the winner of the 2013 Sarah Devens Award, a joint award between ECAC Hockey and Hockey East that is presented annually to a player who “demonstrates leadership and commitment both on and off the ice.” The winner receives a post-graduate scholarship of $10,000.
Longtime St. Cloud State athletics director Dr. Morris Kurtz joined Penn State on April 1 as the school’s special assistant to operations. Kurtz will assist associate athletic director Joe Battista and the NCAA Division I men’s and women’s hockey programs as they move into Pegula Ice Arena and the Big Ten for the 2013-14 season.

Hannah Brandt, who finished second in the nation in scoring as a rookie, has been tabbed the USCHO D-I Women’s Rookie of the Year.
After leading the Minnesota Golden Gophers to an historic season, Brad Frost has been named the USCHO D-I Women’s Coach of the Year.
Minnesota’s Amanda Kessel dominated the offensive statistics, while goaltender Noora Räty set marks for shutouts and wins. The two have been named Co-Players of the Year.
