Cori Forbes scored two goals and Heidi Tallqvist added a goal and three assists as Findlay started the 2002-03 season with a 9-4 exhibition victory over the University of Windsor at the Clauss Ice Arena on Saturday night.
The Oilers dominated for much of the game, outshooting the Lancers 39-11 for the game.
Meghann Schlaff, Kelly Ramsey, and Danielle Wysomierski each scored.
Schlaff, Forbes, Melissa Oliver, Chantelle Russell, and Janet Ploncinsky each tallied first period goals as the Oilers started off with a 5-0 lead just 8:36 into the game. Windsor struck back with three goals of their own to close out the first period.
Ramsey and Wysomierski scored in the second period, sandwiched around a Windsor goal as Findlay led 7-4 after two periods.
Forbes notched her second goal of the night early in the third period. Tallqvist would follow with her fourth point of the game, a power-play goal at the 15:38 mark to close out the scoring.
All three Oilers goaltenders played one period. Erin Blair stopped four shots in the first period. Freshman Jessica Moffat had one save in the second, while Amy Jones finished the game with a perfect, two-save third period.
Windsor goaltenders combined to stop 30 Findlay shots.
