PRINCETON, N.J. — Nick Bligh scored the game-winning goal and James Kruger made 30 saves as Dartmouth edged Princeton 3-2 on Friday night.

Corey Kalk opened the scoring at 9:55 of the first, and just 2:01 later, Jack Barre netted his fourth of the season as the Big Green jumped out to a quick 2-0 lead.

Bligh tallied the eventual game winner in the final minute of the period, chasing goaltender Colton Phinney from his crease in favor of Ben Halford. Phinney, however, returned at the start of the second period and did not allow another goal for the rest of the game.

Ryan Kuffner and Jonathan Liau scored for the Tigers, who gradually began to chip away at the Big Green lead. But the comeback fell short, as Kruger stopped 22 shots in the final two stanzas to complete his second win of the year.

Phinney finished the game with 32 saves for Princeton. Halford played the final 58 seconds of the first, but did not face any shots.

Kruger improved to 2-1, and the Big Green improved to 2-3 overall and in ECAC Hockey.
