The Golden Knights got on the board midway through the first period just six seconds after their first power play of the game had expired. As the Tigers scrambled to get back into position after the kill, Renata Fast blasted a shot from the point that was deflected in front by Titus for her second goal of the season.

The Tigers bounced back after another successful kill, as Kiersten Falck fed Kelsey Koelzer in the slot. Koelzer carried the puck in tight and beat goaltender Shea Tiley stick side with a soft-handed deke to knot the game 1-1.

At 7:50 of the second, as Clarkson was 12 seconds into a penalty kill of its own, Genevieve Bannon intercepted a pass at the Tigers blue line and skated the length of the ice all alone to beat Kimberly Newell short-handed for her eighth tally of the year, unassisted.

On the same power play, Brianna Leahy fired a shot from the circle through traffic, set up by Fiona McKenna and Falck, who was credited with her second assist of the game.

Clarkson’s Shannon MacAulay was the lone goal scorer in the third, netting her 12th of the season from Titus and Cayley Mercer. As both teams were furiously battling for the puck, Mercer gathered the puck behind the net and found an open MacAuley in the slot, who rifled the puck top corner on Newell’s glove side.

Tiley improved to 10-4-1 overall in the win for Clarkson, stopping 15 out of 17 shots in the game.

Newell made 32 saves for Princeton.
