Colgate needed more than 106 minutes to beat Vermont 2-1 Saturday night in an ECAC Division III quarterfinal game.
Each team scored a goal early in the second period, then went scorless for the next 82:48. That’s until Heather Murphy took a pass form Kelly Roos and beat Vernont goalie Tiffany Hayes for the game-winner 6:22 into the third overtime.
Jenny Agnew opened the scoring for Vermont 1:33 into the second period on assists from Whitney Gage and Rebecca Godsill. Katie Koch countered three minutes later following assists from Heather Murphy and Annie Stover.
