The Quinnipiac Braves rallied from a 3-1 deficit in the second period to defeat Mercyhurst, 5-3.
The Lakers opened the scoring in the first period when Louis Goulet scored unassisted on the power play. Adam Rivers then made it 2-0 towards the end of the first period.
The Braves got on the scoreboard early in the second period when Wade Winkler scored onthe power play.
Mercyhurst retaliated less than two minutes later when P.J. Hiscock found the back of the net.
Shawn Mansoff then scored on the power play to draw the Braves to within one goal.
In the third period Brian Herbert tied the game on the power play at 2:48.
Chris Maniatis then scored the eventual game-winner at 4:24.
Mansoff added an empty net goal to seal the win.
The win improved Quinnipac’s record to 16-10-4, 13-7-2 in the MAAC. Mercyhurst (16-10-2, 16-5-1 MAAC) maintained its first place standing in the league despite the loss.
