Daniel Urbani made 26 saves and host Canisius got a goal in the eighth minute of each period en route to a victory over American International.
Canisius won the best-of-three series two games to one and advanced to the Atlantic Hockey semifinals on Friday in Rochester, N.Y. It will play Air Force.
Jesse Pereira’s first-period strike at 7:37 proved to be the game-winner. Matt Hoover scored on a power play at 7:01 to give the Golden Griffins a cushion, and Jeff Murray scored at 7:31 of the third to seal the win.
