Hunter Greeley scored twice during a three-goal second period to lift Fairfield to a 4-2 win over Bentley at the Wonderland of Ice.
Fairfield, which snapped a four-game losing streak, improved to 7-13-1 overall and 6-9-1 in the MAAC with its third win of the year over Bentley. The Falcons, who dropped a 7-3 decision to Sacred Heart on Friday night in the first half of the weekend trip to the Nutmeg State, fell to 2-16-2 overall and 1-14-2 in the conference.
The Stags, down 2-1 after a first period that was interrupted when the glass broke behind the net following a check, turned the game around with two goals 22 seconds apart in the first three minutes of the second. Greeley netted the equalizer at 2:13.
It stayed a 2-2 game for only 22 seconds before sophomore James Lubinski tallied. Greeley tacked on an insurance goal, and what proved to be the final lamp-lighter of the game, at 11:08 of the second.
Fairfield got on the scoreboard first with freshman Aaron Cardinal scoring his first as a collegian at 3:35 of the opening period.
Bentley came back to even the game at 1-1 when senior Brook Geraghty put the puck past Stag netminder Craig Schnappinger at 9:01 for his first goal since the 1998-99 season.
After the game was halted with 6:28 remaining in the first period, Bentley took its only lead at 15:50 with Geraghty again lighting the lamp.
