Adam Will scored a shorthanded goal with 1.05 seconds remaining in overtime to give St. Olaf a 3-2, come-from-behind victory over Gustavus Adolphus at Don Roberts Ice Rink.
The Oles scored two goals in the final 12 minutes of the third period to rally from a 2-0 deficit and send the game into overtime. St. Olaf junior defenseman Jason Haider carried the puck the full length of the ice before dropping a pass to Will, who knocked it past Gustavus goaltender Bobby Dennis for the game-winner with 1.05 seconds left in the contest.
Gustavus opened the scoring when Adam Moseley scored on a shot from near the blue line at 4:53 of the first period. The Gusties carried that 1-0 lead into the third period before Moseley put Gustavus up 2-0 on a goal from the top of the circle at 2:11.
St. Olaf cut the lead to 2-1 on a goal by Brian Meyer at 8:23 of the third and then the Oles tied the score when Meyer picked up his second goal at 15:56 of the third.
Gustavus outshot St. Olaf 25-19. Gustavus goaltender Bobby Dennis recorded 16 saves in suffering the loss and St. Olaf goaltender Jake Bullard turned away 23 shots in recording the victory.
