Karpowich’s 39 saves carry Clarkson past Princeton

Clarkson reeled off four straight goals over the first and second periods, and Paul Karpowich made 39 saves as the Golden Knights beat Princeton 5-3 on Friday.

Nik Pokulok and Adam Pawlick scored in the first period and Corey Tamblyn and Matt Zarbo added second-period goals to put Clarkson (8-5-2, 3-2-1 ECAC Hockey) ahead 4-1.

Rob Kleebaum and Taylor Fedun scored to bring the Tigers (5-5, 5-3) within one, but Scott Freeman scored into an empty net in the final minute for Clarkson.
