The Huskies scored two in the last minute and a half of the game to give them a game one win on the road against the Beavers. Despite scoring the first goal of the game, the Beavers went on to score three unanswered goals to go up 3-1 in the early stages of the second period.
The Huskies came alive towards the end of that period with Mitch Reinke and Mark Auk assisting Jake Lucchini on two goals in what looked like a sure thing for an overtime period.
Seamus Donahue would be the difference maker scoring the game winner with just a minute and a half left to play in regulation. Jake Jackson would go on to give the Huskies a relieving cushion with a goal just a minute later. Beaver goaltender Michael Bitzer made 27 saves in the loss and looks to bounce back tomorrow night starting at 7:07 CT.
