OMAHA, Neb. — Omaha played host at the Baxter Arena in front of a crowd of 6, 497. Evan Weninger posted 30 saves to facilitate the win over the Tigers who had to pull Alex Leclerc from net in the second period before 6,497 at Baxter Arena.
Freshman Alec Calvaruso came in as relief and conceded a single goal. Tristan Keck had a goal and two assists while Teemu Pulkkinen also had a goal and two assist to lead Omaha.
Christiano Versich and Trevor Gooch scored goals at 10:55 and 2:24 in the third period to chip away at their deficit. However, the two tallies came much too late. Omaha had scored four unanswered goals leading into the third period.
Luká Buchta rounded up the scoring for Omaha at 12:24 of the second period on a 4-on-4 power play. Tristan Keck had the first helper and Pulkkinen marked his third point with an assist on the play we well. And it was Pulkkinen who was given the game winner at 4:31 of the second frame, also on the power play. Tristan Keck and Zach Jordan combined to score the first two goals for Omaha respectively.
It was multi point performances from Pulkkinen, Jordan and Keck that made it possible to keep Omaha at the helm of this series thus far.
