ORONO, Maine – Boston College moved within one win of clinching the top seed in Hockey East as Joseph Woll pitched a 33-save shutout and five different Eagles scored goals at Alfond Arena. Casey Fitzgerald and Logan Hutsko each logged a goal and an assist, while Ron Greco added two assists in the Eagles’ 16th victory of the season.
The visitors scored twice in the first period, once in the second, and twice more in the third to cruise to the victory. Both teams took 33 shots on goal in the game. Woll made 16 of his saves in the opening period.
Fitzgerald scored the only goal BC would need just 2:47 into the game. Julius Mattila, Zach Walker, Hutsko, and Graham McPhee scored the following markers. Walker’s was his first of the season, while McPhee’s came shorthanded and into an empty net.
