DULUTH, Minn. — Dominic Toninato broke a tie with a second-period goal, and No. 6 Minnesota-Duluth beat No. 7 UMass-Lowell 2-1 on Friday.

Kasimir Kaskisuo made 11 of his 26 saves in the third period for the Bulldogs (3-1-2).

Andy Welinski put Minnesota-Duluth ahead 1-0 in the second period, but Ryan Dmowski answered for the River Hawks (3-1-2).

Kevin Boyle made 38 saves for Lowell, which was outshot 40-27.
