Contini’s 14th goal of the year came at 8:20 of the first, as she took a pass from Kelsey Koelzer and Hilary Lloyd and fired a shot from the left circle, beating Brianna Laing up top for the only goal of the game.
The Crimson offense rallied hard in the third, but Newell was equal to the task, stopping all 17 shots faced in the stanza, and improving to 8-10-2 overall on the season.
Laing stopped 20 of 21 shots for Harvard.
