SOUTH BEND, Ind. — Michael Louria’s goal late in the second period broke a tie and lifted No. 5 Massachusetts-Lowell past Notre Dame 3-1 on Thursday.
Kevin Boyle made 26 saves for the River Hawks (8-2-2, 5-0-1 Hockey East), while Michael Colantone and Zack Kamrass added goals.
Colantone’s first-period, short-handed goal came on a clearing attempt from his own zone that changed directions after bouncing in front of Irish goaltender Chad Katunar (32 saves).
Sam Herr scored for Notre Dame (6-6-1, 2-2-1), which outshot Lowell 13-8 in the final period.
