ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Dan Schuler scored his first goal of the game in a four-goal second period for Rochester Institute of Technology, which held off St. Lawrence 6-4 on Saturday.
Danny Smith, Michael Colavecchia and Brandon Thompson also scored in the second period for the Tigers, who built a 4-0 lead before the Saints responded with a Greg Carey goal.
After Schuler made it 5-1 for RIT, St. Lawrence cut the lead to one with a second-period goal by Justin Baker and third-period scores by Jeremy Wick and Ross McMullen.
Schuler scored his second goal of the game into an empty net with 10 seconds remaining.
Mike Rotolo made 26 saves for the Tigers. Matt Weninger allowed four goals on nine shots before being lifted in favor of Kyle MacDonald (eight saves).
