Nick Bruneteau, Tom Forgione and Rob Hamilton scored to give Vermont a 3-1 lead but UND answered with the game’s last four goals.
Grimaldi got it started with a power-play goal, then assisted on third-period goals by Mark MacMillan and Drake Caggiula.
Adam Tambellini and Brendan O’Donnell also scored for North Dakota.
