After falling behind, 2-0, in the first to the Bowdoin Polar Bears on goals by Ollie Koo and Harry Matheson just two minutes apart, the Utica Pioneers rallied with three goals in the third to beat Bowdoin, 4-2.
Utica got one back just 45 seconds into the second period when Jordan Hobaica scored, but Bowdoin maintained the slim lead into the third.
Trevor Hertz tied it 3:28 into the third, and with just 4:24 remaining, Ridge Garbutt put Utica ahead for good. Eric Peterson added an empty-netter with 53 seconds remaining to seal the win.
Evan Chlanda had three assists for Utica, and Nick Therrien stopped 27 shots.
The Pioneers will face Wisconsin-Eau Claire in the semifinals of the Frozen Four at Lake Placid, N.Y., next Friday.
