No. 16 Union scored three times on 23 shots in the first period and held on for a 3-2 victory over Princeton on Friday.
The Dutchmen outshot the Tigers 45-19 for the game.
Will MacDonald scored just 25 seconds into the game to give Princeton an early 1-0 lead. But four straight penalties gave Union the momentum to score three unanswered goals on 23 shots in the first.
Kyle Bodie got the Dutchmen (10-6-4, 4-2-3 ECAC Hockey) on the board on the power play at 9:29, followed by Max Novak at 12:24 and Daniel Carr at 18:08.
Tyler Maugeri scored in the second period to bring Princeton (5-8-4, 4-4-3) within one, but the Tigers were unable to beat the Union defense or goaltender Troy Grosenick in the third.
Grosenick finished with 17 saves for Union, and Sean Bonar made 42 saves for Princeton.
