Princeton had two five-minute power plays in the first period Tuesday night, but Quinnipiac was the one to take the lead.
Scott Zurevinski, given a major penalty for boarding in the first minute, redeemed himself later in the period, scoring a short-handed goal on another Quinnipiac major to help the No. 19 Bobcats to a 5-2 victory over Princeton.
Russell Goodman put the Bobcats ahead but later in the first was whistled for a major and game misconduct for contact to the head. But on that Tigers power play, Zurevinski struck to give Quinnipiac a two-goal lead.
Kellen Jones, Bryce Van Brabrant and Yuri Bouharevich (empty net) also scored for Quinnipiac (7-2, 1-0 ECAC Hockey).
Will MacDonald and Eric Meland scored for the Tigers (0-2-1, 0-1).
