Miami scored four goals in the second period en route to a 5-2 victory over Nebraska-Omaha on Saturday.
The RedHawks tallied three goals within a nine-minute span of the second period as they outshot the Mavericks 14-8 for the period.
Derek Edwardson scored the first goal at the 1:32 mark, tying the game at 1-1. After David Brisson’s goal lifted UNO into a 2-1 lead, Greg Hogeboom scored at 9:28 on a power-play goal and Stephen Dennis’ unassisted goal at 10:32 put Miami ahead for good.
Jason Jaworski scored his third goal in three games for UNO.
