Steph Millar provided all the offense Wisconsin needed while goaltender Jackie MacMillan provided the defense in a 6-0 victory over Connecticut at UConn Ice Arena on Saturday afternoon.
Millar, who finished with two goals and an assist, tallied her first of the season nine minutes, 28 seconds into the first period. She made it 3-0 with 59 seconds left in the opening frame and the Badgers cruised from there.
MacMillan made 20 saves for her first shutout of season to backstop a solid defensive effort from the Badgers.
“It was a real good, balanced effort by everybody,” Wisconsin head coach Mark Johnson said. “You are always happy for your goaltender when you get a shutout.”
Wisconsin (3-0-0) completes its weekend series with the Huskies (0-3-0) on Sunday.
