Carolyn Gordon completed her hat trick three minutes, 41 seconds into overtime as New Hampshire (3-0-0) defeated Ohio State (2-2-0) 5-4 in overtime to complete a two-game sweep.
Ohio State led 2-0 in the opening period on goals by Emma Laaksonen and Christine Patno, but Gordon’s first goal, a power-play tally at 13:04 of the second period, tied the game. Her second goal, 4:31 into the final period, put her team on top.
Jen Huggon earned the win in goal for the Wildcats, stopping 17 shots, while Natalie Lamme had 25 saves for the Buckeyes.
Ohio State returns to action when it takes on No. 2 Minnesota on Oct. 25 and 26 at the OSU Ice Arena in Columbus. New Hampshire is in non-conference action again next weekend with a pair of games at Quinnipiac.
