Daymen Bencharski and Dan Knapp scored two goals apiece, and Ohio State scored five goals in the third period Friday night to claim a 6-3 victory over Alaska-Fairbanks.
Freshman Ryan Kesler added three points for the Buckeyes (1-1, 1-0 CCHA). UAF fell to 1-2, 0-1.
Blaine Bablitz and Ryan Lang scored to give the Nanooks a 2-0 lead, but OSU scored the game’s next six goals. Miguel Lafleche and Dave Steckel also scored for the Buckeyes.
Mike Betz made 27 saves for Ohio State; Preston McKay stopped 30 shots for UAF.
