Wayne State began its 2002-03season with a 6-1 exhibition win Sunday afternoon against the University of Windsor at Detroit’s City Ice Arena.
Last year’s leading scorer Kelly Zamora had three goals and one assist, while sophomore defenseman Krissy Langley scored the Warriors final goal. WSU’s first and fourth goals were scored by newcomers Jessica Haydahl and Emily McGrath-Agg.
Junior netminder Anna VanderMarliere went the distance and stopped 10 of 11 Lancer shots.
Windsor rotated all three goalies with each playing 20 minutes.
Wayne State will play two exhibition games against the University of Guelph on Friday, Oct. 11 (7 p.m.) and Saturday, Oct. 12 (2 p.m.). Both contests will be played at City Ice Arena.
