Connecticut was shutout, 6-0, by Sacred Heart at the Milford Ice Pavilion on Saturday night in a MAAC League game. UConn, which suffered its sixth shutout of the season, dropped its record to 5-10-5 overall, 4-6-4 in the MAAC.
Garrett Larson led the Pioneers with two goals and two assists, while Richard Naumann scored one goal and one assist, including the game winner. Both Lloyd Tennant and Chris Mokos tallied two assists. Connecticut was 0-for-9 on the power play, while Sacred Heart converted on 2-of-4, plus a shorthanded goal.
UConn’s Jason Carey played the majority of time in net making 25 saves and Artie Imbriano notched just under seven minutes in goal stopping five shots. Sacred Heart’s Eddy Ferhi recorded 33 saves.
Connecticut will travel to Providence on Friday, Jan. 18 for a game slated to start at 7 p.m.
