Trinity first-year Libby Jakes wristed home the game-winner 3:15 into overtime as the host Bantams skated away with a 3-2 win over Amherst Friday night at Kingswood-Oxford Rink.
The visiting Jeffs slid to 2-6 with the loss, while Trinity improved to 2-5.
After a scoreless opening period, Trinity’s Samantha Lee opened the second stanza with the game’s first tally, assisted by Kristy Hadeka.
Amherst then recovered with goals by sophomore defender Elissa Landes and junior tri-captain forward Danielle Williams just minutes apart in the third period.
Not to be outdone, the Bantams evened the score with a goal by Hadeka, assisted by senior captain Jessica Martin and junior Erin Ledell, to send the game into overtime, setting the stage for Jakes’ game-winning heroics.
Sophomore netminder Mimi MacKinnon posted 29 saves for Trinity, while Amherst junior Heidi Alexander — who was recently promoted to tri-captain by her teammates — turned away 32 shots in defeat.
